Up for auction is the German WWII Army Para Badge - Fallschirmschuetzenabzeichen des Heeres - in its embroidered version. The badge, which most collectors consider the among the most desirable of German WWII badges, was introduced in September 1937 by the commander in chief of the German Army, Von Fritsch and re issued in 1943.
The badge was offered to all members of the Army Parachutist group who accomplished five jumps and passed a qualification test. German paratrooper units were next to certain SS units considered the most feared elite units in the German army.
Most notably the units fought successfully in Holland, Kreta and also in Italy in the fight around Monte Cassino. As can be seen below the badge shows some aging signs, but is in overall good condition. For sample we put Certificate of award. This badge is on the uniforms background.
