A mid 20th century 9ct gold garnet and split pearl brooch. The circular-shape garnet and split pearl oval cluster, set atop a textured leaf, with perched bird. Hallmarks for London, 1961. Length 4.3cms. Weight 11.3gms.

Condition

  • Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Spring mechanism to reverse. Once possibly with detachable components. Does not appear to be in current working order.
  • Garnets are a well matched vivid deep red colour.

  • Split pearls are a creamy white colour, with rose and greenish overtones.
  • Stones generally in good condition. Central garnet chipped. Split pearls in good condition with minor abrasions and nacre damage.
