A FRENCH LOUIS XV STYLE GILT BRASS FIRE SCREEN, SECOND FRENCH EMPIRE (1852-1870), in a Rococo marine grotto motif, the pierced handle over a scrolling foliate frame with rocaille pierced lattice ears, centering a mesh screen and dolphin among scrolling tendrils and seaweed, raised on "S" scroll whiplash legs, joined by an acanthus flourish and flower bud dotted arched skirt. Some redish color dust and common dust debris within crevices, mild surface wear, occasional screws now lacking, but overall in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
