TWO AUSTRIAN PAINTED ENAMEL LUTE FORM BOXES AND A CANDLESTAND, SWISS REUGE MUSICAL MOVEMENT, EARLY 20TH CENTURY, each box of traditional form centering four strings on a gilt metal mounted ovoid hinged lid, with the musical box enclosing a finely painted scene of a shepherdess and her lambs seated before a lake and distant hills, over a plum colored enamel bulbous body having gilt scattered stars, opening to the interior lid fitted with a rectangular cased movement and winding key stamped, "REUGE ST. CROIX," reversing to, "SWISS MADE," over a pale pink enameled bowl, length: 5"; together with a similarly shaped box having a scene portraying a seated young couple in 18th century costume with the maiden held in her suitor's embrace, amongst blossoming foliage and distant balustrade before towering trees and waterside structures, length: 5 3/4"; including a gilt brass mounted and colorfully detailed candlestand, with a cylindrical nozzle centering a peasant maiden carrying a basket of flowers while standing amidst blossoming foliage and tall trees, held aloft by a scrolling cast handle above a spade form tray, enclosing a scene depicting an 18th century youth seated beneath a tree and blossoming foliage, before distant ethereal trees, raised on foliate curled feet, height: 5", width: 5 1/2", depth: 5 3/4".
Each has faint areas of crazing, a few areas of glue or restoration residue, surface buildup throughout, some tiny discolorations on gilt metal.
