after THOMAS JOHNSON (English 1714-1778) A ROCOCO REVIVAL GILTWOOD AND COMPOSITION MIRROR, GEORGE III (1760-1820), the acanthus leaf scroll and flower bloom ornamented crest, over a pentafoil mirrored window within "C" scrolls, centering a cabochon and acanthus flourish at the base, surmounting an arched rectangular central mirror trisected by two molded stiles, and flanked by dramatic "S" scroll ears carved with a profusion of flower blooms and ruffled "C" scrolls; the looking glass ending in whiplash style scrolled feet, centering a pierced ruffled fan within leafy flourishes. Height: 80" Width: 45 1/2" Depth: 2"

Condition

There are some expected losses, gilt wear, central stiles likely replaced, extensive repairs with apparent glue residues, likely repainted and regilt, back and mirror plate likely replaced, but overall in good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
