A ROYAL VIENNA PARCEL GILT PAINTED PORCELAIN PORTRAIT VASE, "Beauty with Distel (Thistle)," LATE 19TH CENTURY, the everted flat rim painted with stylized fleur-de-lis and acanthus leaves on the interior, over a wide gilt band, repeating bead and foliate motifs, above a tapered neck with painted scrolling foliates over a ruby ground, centering a hand painted portrait of a beauty with thistle sprigs within a mountainous landscape, signed indistinctly L/R, opposed by a flowering urn flanked by Renaissance style griffins, over repeating bead, leaf, and quatrefoil patterns, raised on a tapered circular foot; the base marked with an underglaze blue beehive, an impressed "M2437" and titled over glaze.
