A DRESDEN STYLE ASSEMBLED GILT AND ENAMEL DECORATED PORCELAIN MIRROR TOP VANITY TABLE, 20TH CENTURY, the top composed of a portion of a porcelain balustrade "surtout de table" attached to a rectangular rounded corner table top fitted with a bevel edged mirror over peach colored velvet, raised on a porcelain tripod footed base with stacked columnar supports centering a circular lappet rimmed plinth with applied flowers topped by a partially draped putto figure holding a wreath, with three scrolled legs each with a partially draped Bacchanal themed putto figure resting against the columnar supports, one holding up a bunch of grapes, another with hands raised as if holding an instrument (now missing), and the third holding a sickle and leaning on a sheaf of grain, each leg with unidentified maker's of a star over hooked crossed lines, height to top of mirror: 26 1/4". Height: 29 3/4" Width: 23 1/4" Depth: 17"
The balustrades with over painting along the bottom edges and loss to glaze along the top, fitted with later added caps to conceal fixing screws (probably originally fitted with urns or sculptural figures); fading and minor wear to the velvet covering; cracks to the columnar supports, loss to the underside of the center plinth, cracking and loss to applied flowers, rubbing and wear to individual elements commensurate with age and use.
