AN AMERICAN FEDERAL REVIVAL FLAME MAHOGANY AND SATINWOOD KEEPSAKE BOX, MID/LATE 19TH CENTURY, POSSIBLY SOUTHERN, the veneered lid centering a satinwood inlay with decoupage illustrations of The Hermitage and a view of the New Orleans French Quarter from the Mississippi, over three sides with decoupage scenes of early American colonial life, which are likely scenes from the life of Andrew Jackson (1767-1845). Height: 6 Width: 10" Depth: 10"

Condition

Varnish has craquelure throughout, some cracking and lifting of veneer, surface scratches, locks replaced with screw damage at front panel, screws replaced, interior with red baize lining, faint powder odor, but overall in fair to good condition, wear commensurate with age.
