ANDREAS LUCARINI (Italian/American 1861-1939) A CREMONA STYLE 4/4 FERRON & KROEPLIN SPRUCE, CURLY MAPLE, AND EBONY VIOLIN, CHICAGO, 1927, retaining original interior paper label, two maple sound bridges, one marked "Czechoslovakia," no. 2100, together with two nickel mounted, octagonal bows; one marked "Germany 43" and a second marked "Philharmony", and a brown velvet line hard case. Height: 23 1/4" Width: 8 1/4" Depth: 3 1/4" NOTE: Has a beautiful warm, rich, buttery timbre.
Bridges not attached, only one string strung, some miild losses to outermost edges, rubbing and toning to finish, applied labels or residue on fingerboard, loosened pegs, but no apparent breaks or major repairs. Bows retain some hair but are in overall poor condition with some losses, hair detached. Overall the violin is in fair to good condition, wear commensurate with age and use. Restoration by luthier recommended for full sound.
