A CONTINENTAL MINIATURE GILT BRONZE AND ENAMEL CLOCK, POSSIBLY FRENCH/AUSTRIAN, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY, in the Rococo Revival style, with a shaped and hand painted enamel plaque centering a courting couple in 18th century attire, strolling amidst rolling hills beneath a blue sky and puffy clouds, inset with a circular dial having blue Arabic chapters alternating gilt stars enclosing reticulated gilt metal hands, within a conforming gilt frame of "C" scrolls, stylized rocaille and floral clusters, raised short scrolling feet. The plaque has a small repair top right, on small hairline, surface buildup and remnants of old lacquer, gilding is a little rubbed in areas as well as having a few scattered spots. Simpson Galleries does not warranty mechanical time devices.
