TWO HOCHST PAINTED PORCELAIN ALLEGORICAL BUSTS OF INFANTS AS FALL, UNDERGLAZE BLUE MARKS, 19TH/20TH CENTURY, each realistically modeled with head turned sinister and having plump cheeks above an expressive open mouth, while one has light brown wavy hair and wearing a grape leaf and vine suspending thick dark purple grape clusters trailing to a truncated shoulder and flesh tinted bosom, trimmed in fur lined "C" scrolls on a flaring trefoil socle centering pink fluted details and tapering gilt dot decoration, underside enclosing an underglaze blue circular spiked wheel mark, impressed numbers, "0" over "2235", height: 10"; together with a shorter model of same infant, varying by the darker chestnut colored hair and burgundy rendered grapes above "C" scroll trimmed floral spray fabric on same socle with with gilt highlighted fluting, reversing to the socle back base rim with underglaze blue stylized crossed lines star, height: 8 1/2"


The taller model has some edge chips on the grape leaves and some light crazing on the center backside. The shorter model is more thickly modeled but otherwise in good shape.
