Hand colored engravings after John James Audubon(American, 1785-1851). Drawn from Nature by J.J. Audubon F.R.S. F.L.S.; Engraved, Printed & Coloured R. Havell. "Red-necked Glebe" Plate CCXCVIII with J. Whatman 1836 watermark; "Black-headed Gull" Plate CCXIV; Stormy Petrel" Plate CCLXX; "Solitary Sandpiper" CCLXXXIX; "Fulmar Petrel" Plate CCLXIV with J. Whatman 1835 watermark; & "Wandering Shearwater" Plate CCLXXIII. House in burl wood frames. From a Greenwich, CT corporate collection. Dimensions: vary, approx. plate - 12.25" high x 19.5" wide; sight - 14.5" high x 21.75" wide, frames: 31.75" high x 44.75" wide.
"Red-necked Glebe" and "Fulmar Petrel" has been removed from their frames; they are in good original condition both with the J. Whatman watermark, full margins, and are loose, not laid down with two tape hinges at the upper edge; there is light time staining or mat burn in the margins and light handling creases but no hard creases or tears; "Red-necked Grebe" has old tape residue at extreme upper edge. The other four prints also appear to be in overall good original condition and have not been examined out of their frames.
