(South Carolina, 1943-2014) Pen and ink on paper drawing of Charleston, South Carolina Cabbage Row home of Porgy and Bess. The piece having a description at the upper right along with the date of 1999. Good overall condition with some yellowing to paper likely original to production as for antique effect. Note: A graduate of the Chicago Art Institute, the majority of Bob Grenko's career was spent with large advertising firms as a designer. His work as an artist was rarely exhibited; however, he was quite prolific and studied in Europe with Picasso and other notable artists of the middle 20th century. Grenko was recognized in 2014 by Governor Nikki Haley as an outstanding artist of South Carolina. His prolific hand in capturing the Lowcountry of South Carolina is important to recognize and his work in abstract and cubism is also quite strong.H 16 1/8" W 20"
