A lovely Etruscan Bucchero amphora, c. 640 - 620 BC, with beautifully burnished surfaces, the sides of the body and base of the handles adorned with incised angled lines, a spiral motif on either side. H: 4 1/4 in (10.8 cm). Light surface deposits and a nice example! Cf. Perkins, Bucchero in the British Museum, p. 13, no. 8 for a very similar example; Ex New York private collection.
