Antique Chinese Qing Dynasty Mountainous Scroll Painting on silk. Depicting a troupe of travelers resting at the foot of the mountain while playing the Guqin. The Guqin is a seven-string Chinese melodic instrument. Favored by pedagogues and literati as an instrument of great delicacy and refinement. It is referred to as "the father of Chinese music" or "the instrument of the sages". Semi-cursive calligraphy with an official iron-red seal is on the top left section. Very old scroll attached to a pale-blue silk matt border. This scroll is attached to a single di-gan rod and upper tian gan rod where a ribbon is affixed so that they can be hung.
