FREE-BLOWN AND ENGRAVED POCKET FLASK, colorless with strong smoky amethyst tint, flattened circular form with short neck and flanged mouth, one side featuring an "A" within wreath, other with "for min hals" (for my neck), rough pontil mark. Probably Scandinavian. Fourth quarter 18th/early 19th century. 4 7/8" H, 4 3/8" DOA.
Undamaged except for two minute flakes to rim, typical light wear.
Provenance: From a 40-year Pittsburgh area collection.
