A Pair of Satsuma Porcelain Vases, late Meiji Period
Marks: (Japanese characters indicating left and right positions)
19-1/4 inches high x 8 inches diameter (48.9 x 20.3 cm)
These two vases depict four traditional Japanese allegorical scenes. The bodies are ivory-colored with gilded polychromatic enamel overgraze decorations.

Condition

One vase has a small crack in the rim.  Both show discoloration and staining, but are otherwise in good condition.
