A collection of custom-made stage wardrobe from the French born opera singer Stéphanie Perret Gentil. The collection was acquired by the consignor from a member of Gentil's family. The group includes a black velvet bodice; a black velvet bodice with jet beadwork; a black silk dickie with jet beadwork; a pair of black velvet and silk sleeves with jet beadwork; a silk panel with jet beadwork; a wool dickie with violet stripes and beadwork; a striped skirt; a violet bodice with green velvet stripes and beadwork; a violet wool waistcoat; a violet velvet frock coat with applied gold bullion; a deep purple velvet bodice; a burgundy satin skirt with velvet stripe; an underskirt with grey wool and purple wool stripe embellished with beadwork; a burgundy medieval gown embellished with gold bullion and gold tone studs; a black satin bodice with lace embellishment; a black velvet bolero with gold lamé trim and gold bullion fringe; a black satin skirt; a brown wool crepe skirt and sleeveless bodice; and a blue underskirt. Many garments have ""SP"" labels sewn into interior, and some have labels from Berlin costume ateliers. Accompanied by a carte-de-visite of Gentil.
