Rare Early Embossed Sconces Early - Mid 19thC Rolled Sheet Iron 12"H X 7 13/16"W X 2 1/2"D Wonderful worn tinned surfaces, dry pewter gray patina. Elaborately relief formed oval fluted backplate, with applied relief formed central double oval cartouche. Canted, triple lobed dished drip pan & folded edge candle cup (fits 3/4" candles). Sconces are each solder joined to flat, pierced hanging hole backs. The shaped lobes of front side of backplate & drip pan each with embossed line designs. All solder seams intact. An exceptional pair of sconces.
