Circa 1896 Old Vintage 45 Star U.S. American Parade Flag; Printed silk Flag with rich jewel-toned red stripes and blue canton, also ivory toned white stripes. On July 4th, 1896, a 45th star was officially added to the US flag to represent the entry within the previous 12 months of the state of Utah. Rather than design an ordinary flag with 5 rows of 9 stars, this flag maker added interest but printing rows of staggered alternating counts of; 8-7-8-7-8-7. Exterior dimensions are about 47-1/4" x 32-1/4" (an easily frameable size for display). Condition: Light surface soiling and staining. fold lines with some separations along fold lines.
