With double edged blade set into a substantial carved hilt depicting a relief waist-up profile of a monarch on one side and the other side with shield cartouche carved with the date 1344 perhaps commemorating the Siege of Algeciras which ended in 1344. The four side cube form pommel with tapering sides and each side carved with a bust of presumably the same monarch. The oval guard with serrated edge above the sheath which is heavily carved on both sides with scenes of armor clad knights amidst laurels against a checkered background.

Condition

Good with pitting on the lade.
