Lot 0255B
Original numbered limited edition lithograph after Tamara de Lempicka. She was an important artist during the Art Deco period, and there was a resurgent interest in her work in the 1970s and 1980s. The lithograph is "Lady in Lace", numbered 146/300 and signed by the artist's daughter as "K. Lempicka" in pencil. Framed with archival materials and hand-drawn French matte, the framed sheet measures 30 x 22 inches, and opening 16 x 26 inches. Excellent condition. The lithograph was in production in 1980 when Tamara de Lempicka died; the numbered lithographs were then signed by her daughter Kizette de Lempicka-Foxhall after the artist's death. Accompanying the lithograph is the book Passion by Design, The Art and Times of Tamara de Lempicka by Baroness Kizette de Lempicka-Foxhall. On page 103 of that book is illustrated the original "Portrait of Mrs. Alan Bott" (Lady in Lace), from which Tamara de Lempicka produced this lithograph.
