Wooden cased set of trial lenses for refraction use in ophthalmology or optometry. French made, circa 1920s-30s. Put up by Giroux, Guilbert Routit & Cie. of Paris. Brass hinges and fixtures with brass plate designating the firm on an inside tray. A complete set of lenses in excellent condition, save one that is cracked but intact. Contains all convex, concave, spherical, and cylindrical lenses needed to achieve correct refraction to make prescription eyeglasses. Includes lens holder for trial refraction and Pulzone-Hardy rule with leather case used to measure pupillary distance. All housed in a dovetailed wood case with silk lining, and inset lock.
