Locke (John) Observations upon the Growth and Culture of Vines and Olives: the Production of Silk: the Preservation of Fruits, first edition, light browning to title and final f., later boards, spine chipped at head, [Henrey 986; Hunt 592], 8vo, Printed for W. Sandby, in Fleet Street. [by Richardson and Clark], 1766.

⁂ Rare at auction. Researched and written during Locke's time convalescing at Montpellier. The work was submitted as a manuscript to his patron the First Earl of Shaftesbury, but was not published until 87 years later by the fourth Earl.

Provenance: Rothamsted acquisition date 1916.
