Marine life.- Battarra (Giovanni Antonio) Epistola selectas de re naturali observationes complectens, engraved vignette to title depicting a lynx, own and fungi, 4 engraved plates (as called for), plus a smaller engraved plate, with a second set of same 5 plates bound in, errata f., some spotting, contemporary pastepaper boards, 4to, Rimini, ex Typa Albertiniana, 1774.

⁂ Rare and attractively produced work on marine life and plants; this copy with a duplicate set of plates. Battara was a monk at Rimini, best known for his study of fungi in the area Fungorum Agri Ariminensis historia.
