Baum was a member of the Brown County Art Gallery Association from 1949 to 1954, a charter member of the Brown County Art Guild, with an active membership from 1954-1973. She taught painting in Claude Curry Bohm's School of Landscape Painting from 1948-1952. Her paintings were exhibited at the Hoosier Salon from 1943-1965. George C. Baum, Elizabeth's father, was also a noted painter who moved to Nashville in 1958.
