Vietnamese Qing Dynasty Period Blue Underglazed Porcelain Gu Form Vase W/Kangxi Artemisia Leaf Mark - This porcelain vase is of Gu form and is elaborately decorated in blue underglaze with a garden scene around the neck and scrolling flowers and butterflies around the body. The base bears the Artemisia leaf mark in blue underglaze. This mark is typical of the Kangxi period, as up until the early 1680's conditions were unsettled in China and the existence of Imperial wares as well as the use of reign marks on porcelain was restricted in various ways resulting in a number of marks which came into use. This piece will be accompanied by a letter of provenance from the family. Measurements (approximate): 6"H x 3"W.
