This is a bilingual edition in English and in Chinese. From the series Porcelain of the National Palace Museum. The series began in 1961 and contemplated 20 volumes. The first volume of the series was the present volume on Ju Ware of the Sung Dynasty. Ju ware are among the greatest greenish-blue wares of all times. Because few pieces of this ware have survived, the twenty-three specimens that have been preserved in the National Palace Museum constitute a unique collection. Most of the plates in this volume reflect the original colors and the original sizes, and the bases are also illustrated. This volume will be highly useful to the collector and the appraiser of fine Ju ware.

Condition

Chipping to jacket extremities with small pieces lacking from lower front panel and upper spine area, light insect damage to lower front corner; pages 26-42 disbound, else near very good.
