Early in the 20th century a great number of the ancient tombs of the T'ang Dynasty were excavated at Lo-Lang (also known as Lo-Yang) in present-day North Korea. During that ancient dynasty LoLang was under Chinese control. In 1931, Tomb No. 116 of Nanseiri, among other Han Dynasty tombs, was selected for research, and this unexpectedly revealed the most wonderful remains, including a painted basket in the perfectly preserved tomb.
