This remarkable reference book on Japanese porcelain focuses on Imari ware of the sort depicting Westerners or things western, or those pieces specially made on order from abroad, or rare specimens known only to a few. "Imari" was simply the export port for Arita wares. It was the kilns at Arita which formed the heart of the Japanese porcelain industry.
