August 10, 1830-Dated, Partly-Printed Document Signed, “John Jacob Astor”, measuring 8” x 9”, 1 page, New York, Choice Very Fine. Being a Receipt for paying off a Mortgage on a property in New York. Document reads in part; ”... made and executed by Christopher Delano of the City of New York in the State of New York, Grocer to secure the payment of Fourteen hundred and fifty Dollars to John Jacob Astor of the City of New York in the State of New York Merchant and Recorded...”. Its fully Embossed Orange colored Seal is nicely affixed next to Astor’s signature, which itself is deep bold brown and highly attractive for display. Docket on reverse.
