May 5, 1730-Dated Manuscript Document, Town Clerk Copy of 1710 Plainfield, Connecticut Land Grant to Benadam Gallup, Very Fine.
An original Manuscript Document period copy of a 1710 Land Grant from the Town of Plainfield, Connecticut, to a Benadam Gallup, for 50 acres "more or less", with a full description of the property as laid out in 1704 and entered into "Mr. James book," Signed by Benjamin Palmer and John Fellows, a committee on behalf of the Town. This Document is a "True Copy" taken from the Town Records, prepared by Timothy Pierce (1674-1748), Town Clerk, dated on May 5, 1730, prossibly for use in a land dispute or retained as an official record. Measures about 6" x 7", boldly written in deep brown on Handmade period laid paper, folds, early tape repairs to the centerfolds, still quite a wonderful condition for such a rare survivor.
