1927-Dated, Brass Ashtray Made From Material from the 1797 built Frigate USS CONSTITUTION during her major renovation, Choice Very Fine.
c. 1927 Brass Ashtray, measuring 6.25" diameter x 1" deep, made from brass recovered from the USS Constitution during the 1927 restoration. Outer rim reads, "This Material Was Taken From The U.S. Frigate Constitution / Keel Laid 1794 Rebuilding 1927". Inside bottom has a depiction of the ship sailing under full sail with "OLD IRONSIDES" above and " Launched 1797 / 1804 Tripoli / 1912 Guerriere / Java / 1815 Cyane Levant / U.S. Frigate Constitution" below. A wonderful commemorative souvenir of America’s most famous warship, now docked at the Charlestown Navy Yard, Charelstown, Boston.
