Set of Four French Carved Walnut Highback Louis XVI Style Dining Chairs, early 20th c., the arched backs over trapezoidal seats, on cabriole legs joined by serpentine X-form stretchers, in red leather upholstery with gilt tooled decoration and iron tack accents, H.- 42 1/2 in., W.- 18 1/3 in., D.- 20 in.
Condition consistent with age and use. Scratches and cracking present in all four chairs to leather. One chair has an approx. 2 ½” tear to the leather seat. Discoloration and wear to gilt present at bottom proper left seat back. One chair has loose tack decoration in bottom proper left seat. A beautiful seat.
