AN AFRICAN HAND STITCHED NATURAL DYED KUBA CLOTH TEXTILE, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO (ZAIRE), MID 20TH CENTURY, five large square panels bordered at one side with five small rectangular panels, each embroidered with geometric patterns, some dyed with twool now appearing in various shades of red, and other geometric shapes with shades of gray to blue, on a natural cream ground. Height: 111" Width: 28"

Some fraying at one corner, blue text on back, mild tone/staining and occasional soil, each panel appears to have been executed likely by a different seamstress, some fading of natural dyes, mild disturbances of the natural cream color weave in areas resulting in mild separation of weave, a delicate and dry or brittleness of fabric throughout, but overall in good to very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
