A BLUE-GRAY SILHOUETTE AGAINST A YELLOW SKY, Mount Fuji towers over the scene as dusk begins to fall. The famous pine beach at Miho offers one of the most attractive views of the mountain. Hiroshige had already depicted this landscape in the series Famous Views in the Sixty-odd Provinces. there he had chosen a high vnatage point; the lower viewpoint in the present print seems to bring the mountain nearer.
