MAISON SPINNER COUTURE SILK BEADED DRESS, fully hand-sewn, hand-beaded, and hand-finished two-tiered silk dress with flexible stays and luxurious decorative flourishes, embroidered corset strap reads "Maison Spinner" and marked with "XXX" couture stitching, exquisite tailoring and masterful workmanship, fully weighted around hemline to support silhouette during movement, made from dark blue silk, black fine silk netting over entire upper satin tier also beading and embroidered geometric lace, with black silk bobbin lace accents, silk bows connected to large beaded buckle at hip, dangling fringed beadwork attached to lace-trimmed cuffs on three-quarter length sleeves, as well as long beaded dangling fringed ropes at waist, original snaps, hook and eye closures. Circa 1918. Approximately 32" bust, 26" waist, 35" hip, approximately 54" L from shoulder to hemline.
In good condition with fully shattered bodice lining, partial loss to one of three beaded ropes on waist, in back, waist band has been altered for display purposes with Velcro basted onto seams, some replaced snaps, loose seams and threads, loose beads around neckline, slight discoloration to blue satin in areas that are not immediately noticeable, back area has exposed stays and irregular seams due to display alterations, appears to have had a later addition of black floral lace to support netting, most of the silk fabric and netting intact and without shattering; dress is a strong candidate for restoration as well as period couture study, and display.

Condition
