He crafted hexameter verses with his Satires and Epistles and caustic iambic poetry with his Epodes | Overall Good Condition: In a full calf binding with gilt stamping to the spine. Externally, rubbed to the spine and extremities. Further patches of rubbing to the joints. Front hinge is tender. Prior owner's bookplate to the front pastedown, 'Vouzan'. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age toned. Some chipping and small loss to leaf of pages 527/8. Small hole to the page as well, affecting one or two words. Loss to the final leaf of index. Large holes to the gutter starting from the first leaf, not affecting the text. Holes affect first 100 or so pages. Scattered spotting to pages.
