The serial number and a tokyo first arsenal stampDate: 1941Materials: steelSize: Cutting area blade 67 cm (without the habaki)Condition: very goodSignature: The serial number and a tokyo first arsenal stamp
Japanese second world war type nco sword 100% honest and guaranteed really imperial japanese army type 95 shin gunto for non-commissioned officers. The tokyo first arsenal produced this sword. This sword has a cast aluminum tsuka. The fuchi is copper and the sword is fastened in the sheath by an upper latch, which identifies it all as a third pattern sword dating from around 1938 - mid 1941. After mid-1941, the tsuba and fuchi were made of unadorned iron. The locking mechanism for securing the sword in the sheath is placed on the side of the tsuka again in later models. The copper fuchi carries a stamp of the tokyo first arsenal swordmaker, tokyo first arsenal inspection stamp and a kokura arsenal identification seal. The kokura arsenal did not produce type 95 shin gunto but saw the production of these swords by the tokyo first and nagoya arsenals, so the identification stamp is sometimes found on type 95 swords. The 67 cm (without the habaki) machined blade is in excellent condition with very small pits and deposits, in keeping with its age and use. The serial number and a tokyo first arsenal stamp are clearly marked above the bohi. The die-cast aluminum tsuka still has very little of its original paint. The sheath of the sheath is in good condition and works well. The steel sheath is in excellent condition, free from dents and with only small pits and rust that seems to be inactive. The sword draws well and is firmly held in the sheath. The sheath retains a good amount of its original paint. The serial number of the sheath corresponds to that of the blade. This is a great and guaranteed real japanese nco-type 95 sword that was worn by a soldier (non-commissioned officer), a brave man who had not considered surrender as an option.
