19th century German Faschinenmesser (Fascine Knife) brass hilt short sword. Sword is marked PDL ( Peter D. Luneschloss) on one side of ricasso and Crown over PR on other. Blade is 19" long and 1 1/2" wide under quillon. Brass hilt has 2 rivets and a peened tang. False edge is 3/8" thick. Bright metal with scattered light patina. Leather scabbard is sound, with good stitching and original brass throat and chape. The leather has scuffs and wear. The brass hilt has been cleaned. A very nice example of this sword. Very Good-Excellent
