Circa 1790-1810 extremely rare and attractive Napoleonic infantryman short sword with solid cast brass hilt with detailed lion head pommel. Hilt is held on to blade with 2 rivets and a peened tang. 29 3/4" overall with 24 1/4" blade that is 1 1/2" wide at ricasso. Only marking on the blade is a "W" att he ricasso. The blade is flat on both sides, and is beveled on both sides from point for 4 3/4". Blade is nice with scattered patina and light scratches. The sword has been cleaned and displays great. No scabbard. Very Good-Excellent
