Regency Mahogany Center Table

early 19th century, the elongated banded octagonal top above a conforming frieze fitted with eight drawers, raised on a bulbous ribbed standard to four splayed legs ending in brass caps on casters.
h. 30-1/2", w. 41", d. 34"

Condition

In very good polished and restored condition. Normal shrinkage, mars, wear and indications of age and use. Locks present. No key. There are restorations and inpainting to the banding at the perimeter of the drawers. One small corner drawer is either stuck or affixed. The other drawers open and close freely. There is a veneer loss to the rail just below one drawer, about 3" long. There are also splinter losses to the bottom edge of that rail beneath another drawer, about 3/8" high by 1-1/2" long, and another of the same height by 1-1/4" long. Normal minor dings and wear to the edges of the legs. The top turns freely on the pedestal, and the base appears solid.
