Italian Patinated Bronze of the Dancing Faun

fourth quarter 19th century, after the Roman sculpture (itself a copy of a 1st century BCE Greek work) excavated at Pompeii in 1830 at the House of the Faun and now conserved at the Museo Archeologico Nazionale, Naples, on a marble plinth.

Condition

In good "as found" estate condition. Scattered nicks, scratches, areas of abrading and losses to patination. Overall roughening and weathering of patination (please refer to additional images). A small dent/hole at proper right upper arm. Slight loss to genitalia.
