Condition

Previously cleaned and relined; retained stretcher bars; surface dirt and toning of the varnish layer; signs of inpainting mid-right (chest and right breast); lower right (dress, hand and arm); upper right (background); and upper center right (her cheek and hair); small areas of inpainting mid-left (wing), lower left (flowers) and mid-left (his arm). Handwritten label en verso "Mrs. Clara D. White". Top piece of frame has been damaged and glued and taped back on; surface marks, nicks and abrasions; losses along edges, signs of past restoration
