This is a museum quality Ancient Roman basalt stone panel depicting three figures | Rare Piece dates to approximately 100 AD | It is made of Basalt, which is a dark, fine-grained volcanic rock, and is typically composed largely of plagioclase with pyroxene and olivine | This ancient artifact has very nice detail for its age | Measures 12.5" x 10.25" | The Romans frequently created sculptures and columns using granite, one of the hardest stones, at about 8 on the Mohs scale.
