GERMAN SOLDIERS' GROUP PORTRAITS
Group of three portraits of pre-World War I units of German soldiers. Includes: Group portrait, 12: x 16" b/w, depicting a group of twenty soldiers in various poses, in front of a monument to men killed during the Franco-Prussian War. All are in uniform, and the officers are seated at the center. The photo is mounted in grey, and the mount bears the name of the photographer, Karl Bauer. The photograph is affixed to a dark brown mat. Very good. WITH: group portrait, 11" x 14" b/w, depicting as group of twelve officers, in uniform, seated or standing in the photographer's studio. The stamp of the photographer, Karl Hertlein of Stuttgart, is present at the lower right corner. WITH: Group portrait, 11" x 11", depicting a group of ten members of a battery of field artillery, standing and seated in a photographer's studio. Six of the soldiers bear pickelhaube-style helmets with white tassels. The photograph is affixed to a light grey mat. Very good.
