Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Guerrero, Mezcala / Chontal, ca. 600 to 400 BCE. A hand-carved and string-cut abstract standing figure shaped from a mottled green hardstone. The delineated legs, arms, and neckline were all created via the string-cut technique. The figure's face displays a sunny disposition with partially drilled eyes and a gentle smile. An expressive example created from an inherently attractive stone. Size: 4.625" H (11.7 cm)
