Native American, Pacific Northwest, probably Tlingit, ca. mid 20th century CE. A pretty pipe with a dark wooden stem - probably made from cedar - and a carved stone bowl in the form of a bird, glazed with a thick, dark green pigment. A leather strap is wrapped around where the stem meets the bowl. Size: 7.35" W x 3" H (18.7 cm x 7.6 cm); 4.75" H (12.1 cm) on included custom stand.

Condition

Stone has some chips and nicks commensurate with age and small losses to the glazed pigment. Bird beak has been repaired. Wood is in nice condition with a dark patina.
