The buffalo and bear seem to have encountered each other leading to a moment of surprise. They both go into defense stances. The bear begins to lift himself onto his hind legs to appear larger than his adversary. The bull, keeping locked eyes, lowers his powerful head, his hind leg scratching at the dirt, preparing himself to charge if needed.
