Manuscript letter to Millard Fillmore (as Comptroller of New York.) Brooklyn, Sept. 8, 1848. 4to. 2 pp. Blue ink on light blue paper. Paper a touch faded, creased as folded. ************** Apparently signed by Fillmore as received (refer to photos.) Letter of protest written to Fillmore by R. J. Todd, against whom Fillmore had threatened legal proceedings. In 1850, then Vice President Millard Fillmore would unexpectedly become the 13th President upon the untimely death of President Zachary Taylor.
